Olive oil is an integral part of Spanish cuisine, be it to add to your tostada at breakfast, dress a salad at lunch or include in a recipe at dinnertime. No kitchen is complete without a bottle or, in our case, a tin of olive oil. Rama literally means branch. Working very closely with our friends in Ácula, Granada, a young and dynamic olive oil producer, we have developed a natural unfiltered extra virgin olive oil blended with Hojiblanca, Arbequina & Picual olives. Hojiblanca meaning ‘white leaf’ due to the silvery colour of the leaves. Eaten as black olives, this olive produces a pleasant, very slightly bitter flavoured green olive oil which is low in saturates. Arbequina is pleasingly fruity and buttery, rich and flavourful Picual produces a good quality oil that is rich in anti-oxidants For Rama 44 the olives are harvested early for maximum fruit expression and flavour. The oil is then cold extracted and blended.
