This wine from the estimable Envínate, is made with garnacha and nivarius agria grapes in Almansa. Concrete tank fermented and aged for 8 months in concrete, it is a go to at Asador 44 by the glass. Ripe earthy fruit, fresh acidity, approachable and just so enjoyable. A gem at this price.

It is the brainchild of Laura Ramos, José Martinez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente - 4 friends who met when studying oenology at university in Alicante. Their work is exploring ancient, Atlantic infused areas of Ribiera Sacra, the Canary Islands, Extremadura and Almansa. They have a simple philosophy - let every parcel of land express itself through old fashioned farming and wine making methods. they are true wine people and their wines are simply superb.
